What is World of Warcraft: Forever?
- A new WoW branch developed and published by Blizzard, announced at BlizzCon 2026 on September 12, 2026.
- Built on the original 2004 Azeroth, but extended with new content rather than recreated exactly (that is Classic's job).
- Level cap stays at 60; progression comes from new activities, story, skills and gear, not expansion levels.
- Included in an existing WoW subscription or Game Time, with optional digital upgrade packs.
- Windows and macOS; worldwide launch on November 4, 2026.

What Blizzard says goes into it
Planned content for Forever: 3 new zones, more than 1,000 quests, 9 dungeons and 2 raids, plus changes to some existing zones. The new playable race is the Skyborne Elves, and the game adds race-class combinations the original never had, such as Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman.
What this has to do with the stress test
The stress test on October 21, 2026 is a public load test of the Forever production realms — open to any WoW account, wiped afterwards, followed by name reservations on October 27 and launch on November 4. Start with the stress test guide if you want to play it rather than read about it.
